Commissioned by the London School of Economics in 2021, The Lock brings to life the highs and lows of life for women in the Lock Asylum in Hyde Park Corner in 1780s.

Hired, was part of Nabokov’s Present: Tense New Writing evening at the Palace Theatre, Watford.

A Dead Girl’s Guide to Life, which was performed by 17 and 18 year olds from Strode’s Sixth Form College in Egham in May 2012.

The Cradle of Liberty is inspired by two thorny political subjects: Pussy Riot and Bride Stealing in Chechnya, and had a short and successful run in January 2013.

Beckie has directed several new play readings for the Japan Foundation. The aim is to develop the most exciting contemporary Japanese plays which have never before been seen by a British audience.

Recent playwrights include Shiro Maeda and Makoto Satoh.
